GTEM 2010: Workshop on Computational Number Theory and Arithmetic Geometry

FP6 Research and Training Network GTEM [Galois Theory and Explicit Methods] organised a Workshop on Computational Number Theory and Arithmetic Geometry in Leuven-Heverlee, Belgium.

I am a Junior member of this research group and I participated in the workshop.

On of the speakers was ofcourse Prof. Dr. Gerhard Frey.

The workshop took place at May 17-21, 2010.

There were some guided tours organised too. One was through Leuven city. I stayed with two collegues at Hotel de Pastorij.

During my stay to Belgium I had the chance to visit Liege and Brussels too. In Brussels I stayed at Hotel Beau Site.

GTEM 2009: Workshop on Pairings in Arithmetic Geometry and Cryptography

FP6 Research and Training Network GTEM [Galois Theory and Explicit Methods], under the guidance of Herr Prof. Dr. Gerhard Frey, organised a Workshop on Pairings in Arithmetic Geometry and Cryptography at the Institute of Experimental Mathematics.

I am a Junior member of this research group and I participated in the workshop.

The workshop took place at May 4, 5 and 6 , 2009. In the workshop we studied bilinear structures on ideal class groups of curves over finite fields induced by duality theorems of class field theory. Computational aspects as well as applications to public key cryptography were in the center of the talks.

Some of the speakers were P. Barreto, S.Duquesne, D.M. Freeman, G. Frey, F. Hess, D. Lubicz, M. Naehrig, M. Scott and F. Vercauteren.
